The Construction of Reconstruction reflects on how societies rebuild themselves after violence and conflict, and how that rebuilding always carries traces of what was broken before. It suggests that reconstruction is never neutral: physical structures, social relations, and personal identities are all “constructed” in ways that can either repeat past harms or consciously avoid them.
