Metalwork

Artist’s statement

The artwork is made of hoes for feet, wheelbarrow body and a differential and pinion for a head and a computer circuit board as the aerial view of part of a city. I use found objects that I use symbolically to convey socio-political messages about our conditions as a people. I believe that recycling materials go hand in hand with the recycling of ideas and prevent us from being moribund. Using workers’ tools and humanising them seeks to draw attention to the rising levels of class divisions in our society.
