This work reflects Du Toit’s mission to demystify bronze through his use of a precious medium traditionally associated with serious and heroic sculpture in something playful and frivolous. The hares are deliberately anatomically awkward and humorous; they are intended to take the “mickey” out of sculpture and make the viewer smile.
