Crossing II
Deborah Bell
2012
20 Stellenbosch
“Crossing II” is about a spiritual journey or passage between worlds, using the image of a figure in a boat to suggest movement from the earthly realm toward a more timeless, sacred space. Like her related work “Crossing I,” it treats the voyager as a “seeker” in transit, echoing myths of crossing rivers or seas into the afterlife, but also speaking about inner shifts—letting go of the past, moving through loss, and searching for meaning
