This sculpture is based on the form of a traditional work of figurative African art. In this work the “head” is represented by the letter C which refers to culture, community, communication, celebration and creativity. The other letters hidden in the body of the work symbolise the diverse languages within our South African heritage. Hierdie beeldhouwerk is gebaseer op die vorm van ʼn tradisionele beeldhouwerk in Afrikakuns. In hierdie werk word die “kop” deur die letter C verteenwoordig wat na kultuur, gemeenskap, kommunikasie, viering en kreatiwiteit verwys. Die ander letters wat in die liggaam van die werk verskuil is, simboliseer die verskillende tale in ons Suid-Afrikaanse erfenis. Dit is ʼn gelukkige beeldhouwerk hierdie. Kurator se opmerking: Om die tema van die viering van taaldiversiteit in hierdie werk voort te sit, sal lewende poësievoordragte die laaste Donderdagaand van elke maand alhier plaasvind.
