B. 1955
Brother and sister duo, Anni Snyman and PC Janse van Rensburg. Of the many creative fields Snyman has engaged in, her primary focus over the last decade has been land and nature art, and animated poetry. Anni Snyman is an artist based in Johannesburg, South Africa. Anni strives to build creative communities around specific themes and events – each collaborative journey attempts to answer a fundamental question about our humanity and our place in this world. She sees the process and relationships built during each project as an essential part of the artworks produced, laying down the foundations on which the next creative journey will rest. Anni refers to these journeys as ‘creative constellations’ or ‘kreatiewe kunstellasies’ in her mother tongue, Afrikaans. Janse van Rensburg is a practicing architect who graduated from the School of Architecture at the University of Pretoria. He is also an artist and was a member of the Izak Vollgraaff Art Studio in Cape Town between 2000 and 2013. He has participated in a number of group exhibitions. Janse van Rensburg collaborated with Snyman on the highly acclaimed Site Specific land art exhibition in Plettenberg Bay, which she coordinated from 2011 to 2016.
