Lionel Smit

Lionel Smit has received several awards, the first of which was the prize as the best student in painting at the Pro Arte Alphen Park School of Arts in Pretoria. He currently lives and works in the Strand, Western Cape. The artist is known for his large canvases and unique sculptures. He has been exhibiting locally and internationally for nearly ten years and has built up a substantial international following. His collectors range from international private collectors to national and international public corporations and institutions.

Lionel Smit het al verskeie toekennings ontvang, en die eerste een was toe hy as die beste skilderstudent aan die Pro Arte Alphen Park-kunsskool in Pretoria aangewys is. Hy woon en werk tans in die Strand, Wes-Kaap. Hy is bekend vir sy groot skilderdoeke en unieke beeldhouwerke, stal al die afgelope tien jaar plaaslik en internasionaal uit, en het vele internasionale aanhangers. Sy werk maak deel uit van private, korporatiewe en openbare versamelings in Suid-Afrika en in die buiteland.
