Izanne Wiid

Izanne initially qualified as a dental surgeon, followed by a degree in Forensic Odontology at the university of Stellenbosch. She subsequently studied Art and design at the Liverpool Community Art College in the United Kingdom, followed by an Honours degree in Fine Arts at Manchester Metropolitan university. As a sculptor she uses traditional materials such as marble, wood, steel, bronze and concrete. She states: “Sculpture engages with real space through its physical material, becoming a language of construction and destruction, acting as reparation, a restoration in the literal as well as figurative sense of the term.”
